Important: The umbrella, foot pedal and rotation plate are not included when the in-ground base is purchased separately. The foot pedal and rotation plate are supplied with compatible Sunvanta cantilever umbrellas.
Prepare the installation area: Dig a suitable foundation hole and position the in-ground base vertically in the centre of the prepared area.
Secure with concrete: For a secure permanent installation, use at least 320 kg of concrete around the underground structure and stabilising wings.
Keep the mounting plate level: Carefully check the top mounting plate before the concrete sets. The plate should remain level and correctly aligned while the foundation cures.
Allow the concrete to fully cure: Do not install or operate the cantilever umbrella until the concrete foundation has fully cured in accordance with the concrete manufacturer's instructions.
Professional installation recommended: Because installation requires excavation, levelling and concrete anchoring, professional installation is recommended for best results.
Strong weather: The in-ground base improves foundation stability, but the umbrella should still be closed during strong winds, heavy rain or severe weather.

Anchored approximately 61cm into the ground , the 11kg heavy-duty steel foundation creates a low centre of gravity for improved stability while keeping the support structure discreetly below the surface. It also reduces the visual bulk of traditional weighted bases and helps keep your outdoor area cleaner and more open.
The reinforced cross-wing structure helps counter the torque and leverage of large cantilever umbrellas, reducing unwanted movement and rotation while distributing force more evenly through the foundation. This wider underground support helps create a firmer, more balanced connection once installed in concrete.
